web.mac.com/doo.dah.diaries/iWeb/Doo%20Dah%20Diaries/Doo%20Dah%20Diaries.htmlAn site for an "exclusive" project. Apparently this person is collecting as much information about the band has possible...and only giving a copy to a small few. So unless you are associated with the band, it says you pretty much have to track him down yourself and ask! But surely as someone who owns a Bonzo site, Nancy qualifies as one of these lucky few. I say we launch a nationwide search! Edit: Just realised I am now an Equestrian Statue, is this an accolade one gains after 250 posts by any chance?

Very odd. Jon (my co-conspirator on the Vivarchive) got a copy a few months ago (but not me for some reason ) but isn't on the list. I'll get Jon to pass a message on and see if he'll send you one.

web.mac.com/dooEdit: Just realised I am now an Equestrian Statue, is this an accolade one gains after 250 posts by any chance? You are our only Equestrian Statue. Commence to prancing up and down the square. There are three Big Shots. There are also Shirt Shakers (actually only one at the moment),Trouser Freaks and Odd Boys.

I just thought Big Shot was the last on the list and only Nancy got 5 stars...Ah well, if it means little old ladies stopping and saying "well, I declare" I'm sure I can handle this it.

There is still one more rank for you to achieve Kattsay I'll add more now the board is going well and people are reaching the top ranks. I also think I deserve a copy of this diary I can share with the members of this board as I put a lot of effort into this place in the first few months and it is now a useful place for Bonzo's fans as well as fun.

Before everyone starts hassling the poor guy for copies, it's probably wise to point out that it is a massive tome (we're talking encyclopedia here ) which he prints out and binds individually, so it's an expensive business which he undertakes solely for the love of the Bonzos. Add postage to that and it's a large investment in time and money. I'll suggest to him that he does a pdf version that wouldn't cost him anything, and let you all know what his thoughts are. Fingers, toes and limbs crossed...

That would be more convenient for all concerned, but that would be less exclusive and would be passed around a lot. See what he says I suppose.

The Doo Dah Diaries are still growing and I have a long way to go to include the information I currently have, let alone what else is on the internet and stuff I don't know about. Pleased to say that I have received a bunch of information from Roger Ruskin Spear, the odd snippet from Bob Kerr with the promise of more, and a promise from Sam Spoons, so the Diaries are starting to include previously unpublished info. I was trying to build a network of people who can provide input and if you look at the website you will see that I have only just started issuing copies to fans, albeit that ultimately I am doing the Diaries for the fans, especially me! I obviously had to limit demand with the way I was producing the Diaries, and as the full Diaries is a huge document, I don't think pdf is the answer either. Your queries have however made me think about how I develop the project and I have now decided on a new strategy which means more fans will be able to get involved . If you look at the new section "Trouser Press" on the website you will see how in future you will be able to get involved with the project and receive the first volume. David Doo Dah Diaries

I've been asked to write a bit about the forum for a section in the diaries, does anyone else want to contribute anything? I was just going to write something about why I started the forum but all other suggestions are welcome.

Just a note to let you know that I have now posed the first questions on the website - web.mac.com/doo.dah.diaries/iWeb/Doo%20Dah%20Diaries/Doo%20Dah%20Diaries.htmlI hope to start issuing a volume of the Doo Dah Diaries that covers 1980-89, (the period for which I have the least info), towards the end August. If you can answer any of the questions on the website, or future ones, (I plan to post additional questions weekly), then I'll send to you the 1980-89 volume. If you can help the Doo Dah Diaries project by answering more questions then I will send volumes for other periods. (See the website - that explains how it works.)

I have the Secret Policeman's Ball album with "Spontaneous" on it, right in front of me, but of course it just says 1980, no specific release date. I guess Martin Lewis would know; he produced it.

Yes I have the album too, but can find no release date for it. Does somebody know how to contact Martin Lewis?
