According to this myspace page they are making a non fiction feature film about the life of Neil Innes. tinyurl.com/323y64Sounds interesting, my only gripe is you'd have thought they'd have done one about Viv first with him being dead and all that. I suppose he wasn't so popular with the Americans like Neil is which is where the moneys coming from to make this film.

There was the documentary about Viv, which was rebroadcast not long ago.

I know it's available to download on the homepage currently, but it's not a movie is it? He had an equally interesting life as Neil it would make just as good a film.

What a very peculiar page.
There's the stunning quote: Matt Groening, creator of The Simpsons, who tells Neil: "I based all my work on the teachings of the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band."
There's the news section telling us who joined the production after it went into post-production???
And then his list of 'friends' seem to mainly be nubile women who were born after the Bonzos split up.
Very odd.

And it's so badly made there is no myspace url under the contact box, now you mention it it may be a fake page. But why? for the love of god why?

It says it's a movie not a documentary, American's need to learn English. Hearing this has made me actually want to write a movie about Viv's life, not a documentary but an actual movie. I probably could I've studied screen writing, but no one would even read the script so it would be pointless.

American's need to learn English. Ummm... Anyway documentary movies are the new big thing in the States since Michael Moore, Supersize Me, the penguins documentary and an increasing clutch of others that keep winning prizes. So, added to the Writers' strike, this might not disappear the way it would have done even 5 years ago. Fingers crossed.

The film about Neil Innes is indeed a documentary, which was told to me by Burt Kearns, one of the producers. I think the film is in the can as of this date and will be submitted to some film festivals. It could have some theatrical releases in Britain. A few months later, it should be available on DVD, which is the only way Americans will get to see it. Let's also hope Mr. Kearns can persuade Neil to get on a late night show or two, the greatest being Larry King. None of this is set in stone about Neil's TV appearances. Go to The Seventh Python and Frozen Pictures on MySpace for current information. The other producer, Brett Hudson, is one of the Hudson Brothers who had a couple of pop hits and a Saturday morning show in the late 70's. If you can remember, girls, they were all very cute. Thanks, everybody.

So is their anyone here who has seen the documentry and can comment on how good/bad it is from seeing the many clips on youtube the document just seems to me to be just Neil telling the stores of his life with insersts and interviews with the Python Team (less Terry Gillliam)
Also anyone know when it is going to be shown on the big screen in the UK, I guess it wont have a full country wide release and will prob only be shown in some art house movie theatres in London and other few cities across the country.
