Just heard about this from the Bonzo's Yahoo group. "Originally released through Warner Brothers in 1974, four years after the break-up of The Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band, Vivian Stanshall's first solo excursion resulted in a complex and frankly strange album. Appearing on CD for the first time here, it is at turns surreal, amusing, disturbing, eclectic and disjointed. Musically, it's a diverse collection, with English music hall-style tracks rubbing shoulders with African and reggae influences, and the likes of Steve Winwood, Doris Troy and Madeleine Bell ably assisting Stanshall's chaotic but engaging vision. Glad Men Opening has been released and I have a copy myself.
A bit disappointed that Neil Innes is missing from the credits, but the two extra tracks certainly made up for it.
The listing for the album didn't mention the bonus tracks which was, funnily enough, a bonus!

would just like to point out that the git who is selling this CD is not paying any royalties to Viv's family so despite the fact i really want it i'm not touching it with a bargepole. Viv's daughter could do with the money to finance things like Stinkfoot so i think that anyone who buys this CD is acting in the worst interests of the Stanshall legacy!

I must admit, I had wondered about this. Which leads to the question 'Is it better to steal the album in the form of a torrent/download or pay pirates for it?' Or should folks wait an eternity for it to be rereleased officially?

I didn't realise that his estate weren't getting anything, can't they take legal action?
