The Bonzo's latest album and gigs have been shamefully under promoted. I went to see a friend who is huge fan of the band and showed him the new album he didn't even know it existed! Nor had he heard about the tour or the recent gigs that were postponed anyway Please sign this petition to demand better publicity for them as this sucks, their new album could be doing so much better. www.ipetitions.com/petition/bonzodogtour

Thats terrible, I didn't know they had been so lazy.
I've signed it, its no good relying on the old fans to find stuff out and convert others, they need to promote the band to a new audience.

When they did the tour they only did one TV appearance and that was early on a sunday morning, how many Bonzo's fans are going to be watching telly then? Not exactly a prime time slot was it? I actually emailed the site asking them if they wanted me to to make an official bonzo's Myspace page with songs from the new album, I just needed their permission so I wouldn't get sued, I've heard nothing. They really don't seem interested in promoting at all, they've got Stephen Fry Paul Merton and Ade Edmondson on the album, but none of them are saying anything either it's bizarre.
A Myspace page for the new album would be just the ticket, espicially if you included "I Predict A Riot" and "Beautiful People" as it would attract loads of confused Kaiser Chief and Marilyn Manson Fans.

Just occurred to me we're never going to get enough signatures to make an impact as there aren't enough people who are going to even find the petition so it's hopeless really lol.

Nancy, I didn't get as many signatures as you did to encourage Neil to come to the U. S. Obviously, we landed up not needing it, because he's already been here! And he'll be back in August, so I guess we got what we wanted! The Bonzos will at least be making up their cancelled December dates, so that's encouraging. Neil will be touring around in October. So you all have pretty good so far! It's going to break my bank, but I'm going to Beatlefest in August. I've never been to Chicago, and I know I'll see very little of it from the plane, shuttle, and hotel. But I'm there to see Neil, my dream has come true, even if it is going to cost quite a bit. It definitely is more difficult to get all the Bonzos together at the same time. I've finally gotten to the board here. I never seem to find time. I finally got a job, and with keeping up 2 Myspace pages and Googlepages about Neil, I've been busy. Now it's just maintainance. Great to see you all!

I hate to disagree with other Bonzo fans, (particularly Nancy who makes a great effort with this site), but you do need to remember that it is just one chap, albeit a successful business man, Bob Carruthers, not some huge corporation like Sony who is behind the reformed Bonzos. And I don't believe that he has exclusive rights to all future Bonzo release and gigs, only to those he promotes. He did it because he is a fan, (as he did with Uriah Heap), but obviously he wants to try and make some money from all his efforts. Whilst it is very frustrating that there is not more promotion of the Bonzos, without Bob Carruthers there would not have been a 40th reunion gig and all the subsequent gigs and releases, so I think we should really be thanking him. I understand "Pour L'Amour" is selling reasonably well, and it did have some decent reviews. (I sent the reviews to the individual Bonzos because they hadn't seen them!) I know Bob Carruthers has his critics, but I've thanked him before for bringing the Bonzos back together, and if I see him at the Astoria next Friday, I'll thank him again. David (..oh hell, I was always a rebel!)

I'm sure Bob Carruthers is doing his best and with the egos involved it can't be easy but all we want is a bit of info now and again.
As Nancy has pointed out not all fans are interested in or have internet connections to keep track of whats happening. A bit of publicity in other mediums would be nice.

I'm surprised the other artists on the album haven't promoted it at all either, I haven't heard Phil Jupitus or Stephen Fry mention it at all. I don't listen to everything they do on the radio however they might have mentioned it in interview somewhere but no one seems to have heard it if they have. I offered to create a myspace music page with some of the songs from the new album on it but I got no response so I haven't yet as I don't want to do it without the bands permission. I only emailed the website bonzodog.co.uk I don't know if that's the right people to be asking, it is confusing trying to work out who their management even are let alone contacting them. From the responses I've got to the petition a lot of fans particularly in America aren't aware they have even done a new album which is a shame as it's going unheard by so many people who might be interested. It is a surprisingly good album considering they don't have Viv and a lot of people thought it wouldn't work without him, I think the other members of the band and the new artists who've joined with them are more than talented enough to have made it work and I'm glad it did.
