This morning I volunteered to help film (I might end up being the only camera person even) a remake of the video to "Safety Dance" the 1982 song by men without hats. We're going to do it in August in the town the video was originally shot in West Kington in Wiltshire near Bath. If we can actually pull it off it should be a good laugh, and will end up on youtube. We need people to be extra's and help with the props and costumes and a few things for the big scene at the end with morriss dancers and a maypole etc. If anyone is interested there is a facebook group about it here. www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=7421527849And also a topic about it on the Mighty Boosh forum, if you aren't a member of either of those sites but would like to be involved just post your interest here and I'll report back to the rest of the guys involved. Here's a reminder of the video.

The video made me like that song. I love period piece movies and history. That was an awesome video, and the singer looked like he came right out of that time. The woman reminded me John Mellencamp's wife (or ex-wife, I'm not sure). Awesome undertaking!
Does anyone know what the song was really about? I saw a VH-1 show where they gave you 3 answers, you know, multiple choice. It's been a few years back. It had to do with dancers in a club who were being harassed about the way they were dancing. I can't remember what the other 2 choices were. Anybody?
