I was about 12 and it was a tape my dad gave me (The original one from the 70's) and it was "Dough nut in Ganny's Greenhouse". I was in the bath, and it was just after I had listened the to the album "me And My Big Mouth" By John Cooper Clarke. I particularly liked the Tracks "Beautiful Zelda" And "postcard" how about You?

Can't really remember where or what age I was. My brother played Keynsham and I liked it so much he taped them all so I could listen to them all in my room and not bug him to keep playing them ;D

I don't remember which was the first album I heard, but I do remember that if I walked home from school instead of catching the bus every day I could afford an Airfix model every weekend. So when Do Not Adjust Your Set was on and I had to catch the bus to get home in time to see it, it really buggered up the routine! To be honest though, it wasn't just the Bonzos I was rushing home to see - I thought that Denise Coffey was the most wonderful woman in the world!

I think the first time I heard a whole album, rather than the singles or performances on "Do Not Adjust Your Set", was "Doughnut", which I got as a Christmas present from my Mum and Dad in 1968. I was a big Stones fan at the time, (who my parents hated, which made me like them more - typical teenager), and also got "Beggars Banquet" for Christmas, but I remember I found myself listening to the Bonzos all the time rather than the Stones. I later heard "Gorilla" at a school friend's parent's flat in Walthamstow, (once home to the Stanshalls of course), and bought the cheap Sunset release in 1971 when I was a long-haired student and had a grant to spend. I still love both albums, whereas I eventually got bored with the Stones.

It was Gorilla, definitely, and it was 16 years ago, not long after I married someone who owned it (and he still does!).

First Bonzo memory was listening to the Monster Mash on a tape my Dad made and dancing around the kitchen to it, and then having to learn Urban Spaceman for a violin lesson. This led me, some years later (at the age of about 14), to dig out Tadpoles from my Dad's record collection purely for a bit of nostalgia. Instead I ended up listening to the album over and over that whole day, and then finding Keynsham and then Doughnut and spending the next day listening to them too.
Two days well spent I feel.

"Urban Spaceman" (the album -- I'm in the US and it was marketed as such; it's the same as "The Doughnut in Granny's Greenhouse" with the title track added). I was about 18 and worked in a record store and a coworker saw the album (it has just been released) and raved about how great "Gorilla" was. So we ordered it and I bought a copy (probably the second album I bought). Love it, got "Gorilla," and purchased "Tadpoles" and "Keynsham" as soon as they were released.

Looking through my dad's vinyl about ten years ago I found Let's Make Up and Be Friendly. I only really liked King of Scurf and the Strain but I've since rectified that. ;D

First album I heard was "Doughnut", in Charlie Williamson's (R.I.P) bedroom with 2 other dudes rather than in his Grannies greenhouse though she still lived there and was going pleasantly senile Got caught by "Drainpipe", "Rockalizer" and "11 Moustachioed.." and went out and bought the plastic the very next day

First full album I heard by the band was "The Doughnut in Granny's Greenhouse". I saw them on "Colour Me Pop" and i was hooked. I've been listening ever since.

That would be Tadpoles, which was lent to my dad by a neighbour.
