There's been no need for them until now but here are a few rules we ask people to obey if they want to keep their account here. 1. Don't dramatically divert existing threads by posting spam and/or offensive pictures. 2. Don't post bad language out of context, we're all adults and many words are not filtered here, please don't take advantage. Either of these actions will offend people and won't be tolerated, people will only be warned once before they are banned. 3. If you want to post anything that doesn't make sense or fit in with any existing threads and/or is off topic use the dadaism board, it's what it's for.

While I see the good sense in discouraging gratuitous boorish language or graphics, I feel somewhat compelled to defend the fine art of topic derailment, or "threadjacking," as it's sometimes called. It's like life. Or simply, conversation. It starts out in one place, but often doesn't stay there long. It meanders like a brook. It evolves like a...chicken?
It's like a train. Of thought? See that little train coming, puffing up over the hill? Train's gone by sundown, loud and lonely whistle so quiet and still. As the bluesman sang. Oh, dear.

I'm talking about people who are obviously posting straight off topic in specific threads just to derail them, if the topic of discussion gradually changes that's not bad it keeps the thread going when it otherwise might have died and been sent to the archive.

It really is getting difficult to find a good curry these days, isn't it? I mean, properly spiced and not too greasy. Sorry!
