I got an ipod recently and was happy with it until today when as it is full I tried to delete some songs. The songs have gone but no space has been freed, it's still full. I did a quick google search and I already have manage music manually checked, I've also tried syncing it again but nothing happens. It seems I'm not the only person with this problem either many people have experienced the same thing. Has anyone worked out how to get round it?

We have the fist one ever made. My sister-in-law got it for being on the Howard Stern show (don't ask). She gave it to us about 3 years ago, new in the box, it was never used. We spent hours with Apple tech, bought a firewire, but never could get it to do anything.

What kinda iPod you got, Nancy?
I have a 60GB and have yet to fill it up, but I have messed around with the sync settings. This can be tricky, coz it loves to do it automatically for you. Everything is linked to the itunes library and its worth creating as many playlists as you can.
Have you got it set to manual? Are you deleting the music or just the playlists?
If all else fails then you will have to restore back to factory settings and try to resync to your selected music. Just make sure you have all your songs backed up somewhere.
Good luck!

I've never had any problems but I have a ipod nano, can't think what the problem could be as I am constantly changing the music on mine apart from the Bonzos that is ;D.
We are also using an older version of the itunes software as last time it wanted us to update, it caused massive problems.
