www.imdb.com/title/tt0482630/maindetailsI heard about this ages ago, and I still can't quite believe they have Mike bloody Myers on board to play him! He's too old! And too overweight! Not that I'm ageist, or, errr, fattist, but surely some of this best years were when he was younger. But this aside, who do you think SHOULD play the guys from The Who in the movie?

Is someone going to play Viv?

There had bloody better be someone playing Viv. Hmmm, I wonder who could pull that off?

Depends on whether the script chooses to cover that aspect, I guess. They were good friends but U.S. audiences won't know who Viv is, and he (and their antics) would be very hard to explain. Even with his tragically short life, with only 2 hours, there's still a lot of Moon's story to fit in.

Despite wracking my brain I can't think of a single actor currently around who could convey the presence that Viv had. The only person who comes to mind is Billy Connoly - God forbid! Of course, having just written that, Alan Rickman suddenly popped up. He could have a damn good go at mixing the comic, sinister and pathetic elements needed. And wouldn't it be fun if he stole the show like he did in Robin Hood?

It would not surprise me if Mike Myers knew about the Bonzos. It would also not surprise me if the script doesn't go anywhere within 10 miles of Viv because his relationship with Moon will be utterly inexplicable to Yanks, who would assume they are gay lovers. But you can bet you'll see a car in a swimming pool.

But you can bet you'll see a car in a swimming pool. Somehow, that makes it almost worth while I think Alan Rickman could probably do a good job of it, and I can kind of imagine him as a ginger... I can't think of many male naturally ginger actors, so if they did (by some long shot) have a Viv character it would have to be a dye job!

When I read this I thought instantly of Rhys Ifans for Viv. Mike Myers is completely wrong for moon tho

Hell yeah! Did anyone see him as Peter Cook on 'Not Only But Always'? It was uncanny. Edit: Have just read your post on the Innesboard Graytart, and it is definately worth seeing. I recorded it off the TV when it was repeated at Christmas (cheapskate? ME?) and have spent many a Sunday night re-watching it. Can't fault it. Except the woman who plays his wife is a bit annoying.

I've not heard anything about this, did it ever get made and I just missed it? Stephen Fry would play a good Viv if he grew some face fuzz (or used a fake mustache, they look good these days) and they dyed his hair.
