So, who does everyone like, besides The Bonzos?
With me, it's like this--The Bonzos are a classic favorite that has survived many years and my evolving taste. The other music I like most is not very Bonzo-like. Probably because they were unique.
Anyway. My other long-time faves are:
New Model Army The Lemonheads Nick Cave
Recent interest in:
Dropkick Murphys Throwing Muses/Kristen Hersh/50 Foot Wave Strike Anywhere

I could probably whittle my absolute favourites down to about 50, but to avoid boredom I'll just say that having just got everything Brian Eno has ever done I'm currently working my way through that.

Forgot to mention I'm also a big Gong and frank Zappa fan, and of more recent music I only really like Amy Winehouse, and KT Tunstall is OK too.

All time favs, Alice Cooper... Git outta town! I was a big Alice fan back in the day, sort of wandered away around Billion $ Babies. Saw the original band play a few times, they were excellent. Heard an interview with Mr. C on NPR a while ago. He's a born-again Christian now. As opposed to an alcoholic drug addict. Tough choice!

A bit like the Bonzos, I never saw Alice at his best so can't compare but still think he does a damn good show, even as a born again christian. He's also obsessed with golf at least its healthier than drinking.

A bit like the Bonzos, I never saw Alice at his best ... I had a ticket to see The Bonzos at The Fillmore East in NYC when I was in 9th grade, I think it was. 1970? It was when they played with The Kinks and Spirit. A week before, my parents got a letter in the mail instructing them to appear at the local police station with me. On the day of the show! So it turns out there was some sort of glue sniffing club, and I was--entirely falsely!--implicated. It was a case of mistaken identity, and soon straightened out, but I missed my only chance to see The Bonzos. Damn coppers.

I hope you were fully reimbursed by the police... Not only did they make me sit through the whole lecture, even after the real sniffers said I wasn't one, my father, for years, decades even!, said, "...and I had to go to the police station because of what you did!" Even after all these years, it's still not funny.

Well, mainly 60s music. The Beatles, the Kinks and early Pink Floyd being particular favourites. And lots of stuff apart from 60s music... but definitely not soul music
