Concrete Coal Bunker as a log in name. (Both Bonzo obsessions) Hello everyone. Nice to be here amongst friends eclectric. Fan since as long as I can recall, even before Do Not Adjust days. I'm always surprised to hear Bonzo music crop up in the most unusual places and on tv. One of my prized possessions is a personal letter to me from Viv. I felt so sad and it cut deep when I heard of his death - it was like losing a 'friend'. I felt his best was yet to come...# I hope to learn and pick up more about the Bonzos and their followers here. Enough chat, lets get on with some, er, chat...

Welcome You can never have enough trousers or shirts. This isn't the busiest forum around but it does have a very select membership, of whom you are almost certainly the longest-running fan. I've not met anyone who knew of them before DNAYS (apart from the band members of course), so a life-long Good Taste Award to you, sir! ;D

Indeed welcome I'm sure you'll be able to teach us a lot about the Bonzos.

I was quite young when I became a fan, I can remember hearing 'The Intro...' on the radio, as well as 'Jolity Farm', 'Mickey's Son...' and wanting to hear more.
Imagine my surprise at seeing these people on this strange tv programme DNAYS. My favourite part was Captian Fantatstic and the animations, as well as the music.
Thank goodness they have surfaced on DVD - I wish the same could be said for Rutland Weekend Tv / Innes Book of Records.
The first LP I bought was Gorilla.
Does anyone remember the playout on Slush (vinyl) that went on and on laughing if you just left it spinning!

Does anyone remember the playout on Slush (vinyl) that went on and on laughing if you just left it spinning! Oh yes! I remember being repeatedly surprised at how fast a laugh can drive you psycho. I recorded it to tape once and left on about a minute of the laugh loop. Couldn't listen to it more than once so I had to re-record it. And yes, Captain Fantastic was my favourite bit too.

The only thing that surprises me about "Slush" is that so many people on these Bonzo boards apparently want it played at their funerals/ Bunch o' sick puppies... They had to re-record Slush for the Astoria show due to copyright issues with EMI (also the Intro and the Outro) and I'm pretty sure it's Neil laughing on that.

I still say Vivian's "The Question" is an even better one to have played at your funeral. "Why me?"
