Now that the venues have been booked the endless business of juggling diaries is now fully underway . Phill Jupitus has anchored the ship nicely by confirming his availability for all dates .Paul Merton can only do the London shows .Stephen looks like he is out altogether and Ade is doubtful due to sit-com comitments , so the $64000 question is ...who would you like to see join the Bonzos on stage .One interesting idea floated recently was Emo Philips, but names as diverese as the Mighty Boosh to John Sessions have all been bandied around Bonzo towers . Anyone got any ideas , be interesting to hear your own fantasy line up could be an entertaining thread ....why not list your own favoured four guests and say why .......................... Cheers Bob

The guys from the boosh would be good (Noel And Julian) as they sing as part of their show, and The guys who did Snuff Box and the first series of the mighty boosh (Matt Berry and Rich Fulcher), Matt Berry can sing and his voice would suit the Bonzo's material.

I did hear at one point Bill Bailey was going to do the original show in January, was that just a rumour or did he have to pull out?
Would it be possible for him to join the tour? (Preferably for the Leicester date!)

Thanks Bob, it would be really good if Bill could do it. How about John Hegley? I think he's been involved with the Gonzo Dog-Do Bar Band: www.catmachine.com/perretandlimb/gonzo.php (although I only know as much about that band as that website says!) I've seen John Hegley live a couple of times, he's really funny and he can sing too! Jonny

If Rik Mayall filled in a few dates (as the rumours go), I think he'd be pretty fantastic.

I read in my local paper that the Mighty Boosh and Bill Bailey were possibles ;D I hope so esp Noel and Julian I think they would be brilliant. Richard Ayoade would be good

Sessions.... yes, presuming that he'd preform as a fan rather than a paid voice artist. I'd consider Alexei Sayle for Rhinocratic, Tent and Sport duties..if he could be persuaded to perform and had the interest... Simon Pegg or Nick Frost could do an admirable take on The Strain.... Hegley could work, Robyn Hitchbiscuit might be worth an approach.... Ultimately it comes down to who recognise's the Bonzo legacy, wants to perform with them, and who they can work with. McCartney?? Winwood?? I'd also suggest checking out a Brighton band called "The Don Bradmans" who do a number of Bonzo covers. May not be celebrity guests but could be an ideal support band....

Argh - another place to check for things - and this board doesn't seem to have an "email out" function.
Anyway - here is what I wrote in 2 of the Yahoo! mailing listings today: How about Viv's brother ... Mark. I heard him speak on one of the tribute shows and he did have a similar voice. He might not be happy singing but might be good on the speaking ones. Rupert Stanshall is around these parts and might be interested - especially if he were to be involved early on. Steve Winwood ... more musical ones Mike Oldfield ... intro/outro Terry Jones/Michael Palin/Denis Coffey (DNAYS) Eric Idle (will he be in UK for Spamalot and does he get along with Neil at the moment)
Some of the above were in a suggestion that I sent [to Bob] a couple of months ago, but bigger question - does it need more non-Bonzo folks?

Off into fantasy land I know, but wouldn't it be wonderful if they could get Captain Beefheart (Don Van Vliet) away from his painting to recite songs like Rhinocratic Oaths. John Peel did say that the Captain and Vivian Stanshall used to be in contact with each other....
Back on planet Earth, I hope Stephen Fry can make some of the tour. I thought he was great at the Astoria.

its a huge shame that steven fry wont be involved. i am very glad that paul merton is not doing manchester - ive never been a fan of his and watching the astoria gig, he had to read the entire lyric of monster mash from the cue cards - some "fan" he is.
i certainly agree that mark stanshall would be a god send if he was involved. he sounds so much like viv its errie. imagine them doing the original "rawlinson end" with him!

I do like Paul Merton but I agree his rendition of Monster Mash was horrendous and frankly embarassing and I am so glad he can only do London ;D
