And I'll never know what anybody else apart from gwood thinks about the shower. Please people, I really need to know whether it's a nice cold shower or an ice cold shower. Always thought it was a nice cold shower until a friend heard the song and thought it was an ice cold shower. Now this is an ongoing debate between us. Help!!!!!!!!!! I believe having a nice cold shower is a refreshing way of cooling off after over-exertion or a hot day. Having an ice cold shower is more of a punishment or a means of cooling ones ardour. I think it is a nice cold shower Sounds reasonable to me. You win.

Thank you for taking time to settle this for me - I was thinking about it again and "a nice cold shower" makes more sense to me. You would expect Mr Stanshall to be sarcastic rather than to the point, wouldn't you?

Are you sure it's actually Vivian who said it? It actually sounds a lot like Neil to me, plus he was good at German accents because he lived in Germany as a child.

Well, what I meant was that since Vivian wrote the song, he must have also written that particular line. Since quite a lot of improvisation went on, I cannot be 100% sure. I agree with you, it must have been Neil who is actually saying it on the song, it sounds more like him. Brrr, it's freezing cold today, so I'll pass on a nice cold shower - my curiosity is satisfied anyway, as most people seem to agree with me
