Yep, that's the general point of the place, welcome. We do have a chat room I'll have to arrange another party in it, we had one when they released their new album. Maybe we could have one for everyone who can't make it to the gig in London later this year.

Hullo there! (I'm in Val Doonican mode) Just found this board through Last.Fm and having recently played Cornology from one end to the other decided to see what's going on ;D I saw all the Do Not Adjust Your Set stuff, jaw-dropping show in it's day, and the passion for the Bonzos' was lit. Saw them live twice at outdoor festivals, great shows they put on with all the theatrics.... the robot spouting bubbles, giant inflated phallus like thing etc etc. I emigrated to BC in '72 where practically no one had heard of them but their albums were available and I was able to keep up to some extent but never had a chance to see them again. Anyway, must be toddling off. Hope to get you in my Tent sometime

Welcome to the board hope you come back again soon, there is quite a bit going on they've done a new album which they are about to release on vinyl too. And there's a concert coming up soon if it hasn't already been, hopefully it won't be their last as I still have never seen them.

So the boys got together and formed a band..., Fate played the straight man, and since then they've never looked back...
Bumped into Nancy elsewhere online (where I'm known as "big_gary" believe it or not!), and I thought I'd stick my nose in to say the quickest of "Hullos" to all Bonzophiles!
Saw the Bonzos on their 40th anniversary tour, in Newcastle. Brilliant! Never saw Viv while he was alive though, more's the pity...

I never saw him either sadly I was too young before he died to get the things he did after the Bonzo's, like sir henry etc. Apparently he performed that in the theater I'd love to have seen that. I live on the Isle Of wight and the tour didn't come close enough for me to get to see them, they are hopefully still going to do another one with their new material when their schedules allow so fingers crossed I'll see them then. Welcome to the board anyway I hope you enjoy it here.

Nancy, there is talk of another small Bonzo tour in the fall. Sorry to quote myself, but I asked Neil about this on Saturday and it is all definitely off - we have seen the last of the Bonzos live, alas. "Well, Vernon's 74 you know!" he said. He basically said they were lucky to have managed to get together for the anniversary and the tour and the album, and it's probably better to quit while they are ahead.

Sad news...
Makes me really glad to have caught them when I did! Vernon's saw-playing was awesome. Just loved his German accent, too... Heh! Managed to talk to him and Roger RS after the gig. True gentlemen.
