Whatever became of the brilliant guitarist that performed on the Dog Band's last album, Let's Make Up and Be Friendly, "Bubs" White? I see that he was also on Stanshall's Men Opening Umbrellas but cannot find any additional works. Chris

A Member of yes plays on that album too, he'd just been thrown out apparently, I know nothing about Bub's White unfortunately.

I read something in an interview with either Neil or Viv (can't remember which) that said he's no longer in the music business...it did say what he does now but I can't remember! I'll look.

Nancy: Who was with Yes on the album (I wasn't a BIG Yes fan, so I'm not too familiar with the band members). Kattsay: Help me find out more about "Bubs" White! I don't even know what his first name is. Also, can you direct me to the interview that gave the information you mentioned? Along with the late Ollie Halsall, these were hands-down the two greatest UK guitarists of all time!! All I know of White is from the two albums he cut with the Dog Band and Viv Stanshall. Am right now listening to his "brainbiter" solo on "Rusty", absolutely awesome! Chris

The keyboardist on "Let's Make Up and Be Friendly" was Tony Kaye (besides the incomparable Neil Innes); wasn't the keyboardist with Yes Rick Wakeman?

Bubs (or Bubbles) real name was Anthony. Ermmmm...apparently he has also sessioned for The Scaffold, Jim Capaldi and Red Express. Oh, and not forgetting biG GRunt (have you seen the video of their performance of 11 Mustachioed Daughters? If not, I can direct you there). Theres a recent pic of the man himself (with Neil Innes and Andy Roberts) here: www.andyrobertsmusic.com/Rutles_04_2.htmlAnd the interview is here: www.terrascope.co.uk/MyBackPages/VivStanshall.htmTheres probably more, just look him up on Google.

Kattsay:
I have always wondered about biG Grunt; never heard any of their recordings. Are there any available currently on CD? I have "googled" Anthony White but only found one hit, apparently an energy specialist but not the one in question. I will try to hunt down any biG Grunt, Vivarium, and Bonzo Dog Freaks recordings, but can use any help I can get! Chris aka FOON

If you google Bubs White you get quite a lot of pages. I don't think you can get any biG GRunt recordings, but I think there was a record or CD called 'Meet the Bonzos' with a couple of their songs on. And their video of 11 Mustachioed Daughters is here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZHTkb6BUxU

Kattsay: I logged on to the website with "Eleven Mustachioed Daughters", but even after downloading the media player I cannot get the video to play. Since I'm not extremely computer "literate" maybe you can guide me to what I'm doing wrong. Looks like this site has many other Dog Band videos to see; with the exception of their appearance in "Magical Mystery Tour", I've never seen any other Dog Band performances (live or otherwise!) FOON

The only thing I can think of that could be wrong with that page is it needs refreshing. It sometimes does that to me...reload it and wait for a while to see if the player appears. If not, then theres another site where you can watch the videos, orangecow.org/pythonet/dnays.htmlThe videos on that site don't work for me, but apparently do for everyone else!
