I have a copy of the Japanese release of the Rutland Weekend Songbook, so if you email me your address, I will get my son, (he's much more clued up on these things than me), to cut a copy for you. I have to say that there are some classic tracks on it.

I just helped a Polish guy over at the rutles forum to write subtitles for the film, so maybe on a new release there will be polish subtitles now.

I dig the Rutles. I've got All You Need Is Cash on DVD, plus, the accompanying CD as well as Archaeology.

I'll get the DVD when they are re relased which is planned apparently, as my name is on the end of the polish subtitles apparently.
I have the film in avi. format at the moment.

They aren't there anymore but if it's a rutles tribute band that sound remarkably like them, I saw it over at the Rutles message board. They really are very good, and they are American yet somehow manage to pull off the fake scouse accent, so hat's off to them.

Did you know there was a compilation of Rutles cover versions, mostly by alternative rock acts? It was called Rutles Highway Revisited. I don't have it (used to...) but I looked online and here are the contents. From 1990. 1. Cheese and Onions - Galaxie 500 2. Hold My Hand - girl thingywillows 3. Number One - Bongos, Bass & Bob 4. Good Times Roll - Lida Husik 5. Another Day - Dogbowl 6. Piggy in the Middle - Das Damen 7. I Must Be in Love - Marc Ribot, Syd Straw 8. Nevertheless - Joey Arias 9. Let's Be Natural - When People Were Shorter & Lived Near The Water 10. Between Us - Unrest 11. Ouch! - Peter Stampfel 12. Blue Suede Schubert - The Tinklers 13. Living in Hope - Tuli Kupferberg 14. Baby Let Me Be - Daniel Johnston 15. It's Looking Good - Uncle Wiggly 16. Goose Step Mama - Shonen Knife 17. Get up and Go - Jellyfish Kiss 18. Doubleback Alley - King Missile 19. With a Girl Like You - Paleface 20. Love Life - Bongwater

Here's something you'll find nowhere else! A remix of the Rutles' Doubleback Alley done by me. What I did was use a CD player (Rhino copy of the Rutles/20 tracks) and on occasion I'd unplug one of the coaxial cables in the back, and "bridge" the remaining cable by using an adapter...this kind of removed the vocals and gave you the instrumental backing... ...by using a cassette deck and hitting the pause button at the right time, the result is a version of this Rutles classic you will hear nowhere else. About 3.51 MB, 3:49 in length. Download to your desktop and copy to your mp3 player, or onto a CD-R, etc. Or just click on the link and play from there! shrinking.250free.com/doublebackalley.mp3

I have the Rutles Highway Revisited. It's pretty good -- some nice covers that aren't totally straight.

Not the Rutles, but from Rutland Weekend Television BoringMight cheer you lot up anyway! Personally, my favourite sketch from RWT was 'Halt! who goes there, friend or foe? Carrot' but that's probably off-topic so never mind

It's not off topic Neil Innes was involved in RWT, calls for a new thread in fact...

Neil said in the Danny Baker interview that he was writing a new Rutles album, so that would say new songs to me. Maybe a few re-jigs of his solo stuff like on Archaeology, but I would imagine it will mostly be new.
